UII's FCEP Names Three Top Students for the 2026 Presidential Election Selection
The Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FCEP) of the Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) successfully held the 2026 Outstanding Student Selection (PILMAPRES) with eight top finalists from various study programs within the FTSP. This selection process is part of the process of selecting outstanding students who will represent the faculty in the Outstanding Student Selection event at the Universitas Islam Indonesia level.

The final selection process involved a comprehensive series of assessments, including Outstanding Achievements (CU), Creative Ideas (GK), and English communication skills (BI). Each finalist participated in an interview session, a presentation of their creative ideas, and an English communication test, which were assessed directly by a panel of judges comprised of FCEP lecturers with expertise in academics, innovation, scientific publications, and student development.
Before reaching the final stage, the selection process began with a filing stage attended by student representatives from three study programs at FCEP: Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Environmental Engineering. Participants were asked to submit documents highlighting their top 10 outstanding achievements, creative ideas relevant to sustainable development issues, and a video presentation in English addressing issues related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Based on the final assessment results of the jury, Alwan Chandra Ririh Adhyaksa from the Civil Engineering Study Program won First Place with a total score of 409. Second Place was won by Aurel Rifda Huntoro from the Architecture Study Program with a total score of 403, while Third Place was won by Naila Syafa'atul Udzma from the Environmental Engineering Study Program with a total score of 360. The three students will then represent FTSP UII in the 2026 Outstanding Student Selection at the Universitas Islam Indonesia level.
The Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FCEP) at UII, Prof. Ilya Fadjar Maharika, expressed his appreciation to all students who participated in the selection process. He stated that the PILMAPRES (Presidential Selection) is an important platform for fostering a culture of academic excellence among students. "Outstanding students are not only required to have high academic achievements, but also to demonstrate leadership, creativity, and concern for societal issues. We hope this activity will continue to produce students who are not only intellectually superior but also have a real impact on the environment and the nation," he said.

A similar sentiment was expressed by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Religious Affairs, and Alumni of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FCEP) UII, Ir. Fitri Nugraheni, ST, MT, Ph.D., who emphasized that the selection process was conducted objectively and transparently. "The PILMAPRES selection at the faculty level is designed to identify students who possess a combination of academic achievement, critical thinking skills, creativity, and global communication skills. We hope that the selected students can become the best representatives of FCEP UII at the university and national levels," she explained.
Meanwhile, the Head of the 2026 UII FTSP PILMAPRES Selection Team, Ikrom Mustofa, S.Si., M.Sc., explained that the assessment process was carried out comprehensively, taking into account various aspects of student quality. "The selection process not only assesses the number of achievements held by students, but also the quality, impact, and relevance of these achievements to personal development and contribution to society. In addition, the creative ideas submitted by participants are also an important indicator in assessing students' ability to offer solutions to various development challenges," he said.
In terms of assessing global communication skills, Dr.-Ing. Putu Ayu P. Agustiananda, ST, MA, who acted as one of the judges in the English component, assessed that the finalists demonstrated good potential in conveying ideas argumentatively in an international language. "Students today must be able to communicate their ideas effectively to a wider audience, including at the international level. We see that the finalists have quite good abilities in conveying ideas clearly and confidently," she said.

Alwan Chandra Ririh Adhyaksa, the first-place winner of the 2026 UII FCEP Presidential Election, stated that the experience of participating in this selection process was a very valuable learning experience. He stated that this competition not only encourages students to demonstrate their best achievements but also to continue developing innovative ideas that benefit society.
"For me, PILMAPRES is not just a competition, but also a space for self-reflection and development of potential. I hope this experience will motivate other students to continue achieving and making real contributions through their work and innovation," he said.
Through the implementation of this PILMAPRES selection, FCEP UII hopes to continue to encourage the birth of superior students who not only have strong academic achievements but also have leadership skills, creativity, and concern for various sustainable development issues in Indonesia.
