Ramadan Study 1447 H, Department of Environmental Engineering, FCEP UII "Spiritual Madrasah Starts from the Family"

Spiritual education, which encompasses spiritual education, begins in the family, as the family is a child's first and foremost school. The family environment is the first place a child receives education in morals, faith, manners, and religious values before they are exposed to the outside world.
In today's digital age, many families are unconsciously moving away from the Quran. Gadgets, social media, and worldly activities often take up time that should be spent spiritually engaging with God's revelation. "The Quran is not just a holy book to be read during ritual worship, but a light of life that should illuminate every corner of the household," he said.

This was stated by Ustaz Kiki Fardiansyah Wijaya or familiarly called Kiki F. Wijaya, Life Coach, Soft Skills Trainer, and Islamic Psychology Activist in the Ramadan Study held by the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FCEP), Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) on Saturday, 10 Ramadan 1447 H / February 28, 2026 at the Auditorium of the Moh. Natsir Building, FCEP UII Campus, with the theme "Spiritual Madrasah Starting from the Family".
Ustaz Kiki further added that parents are primary role models for children in practicing daily spiritual behavior and creating an atmosphere of peace, mutual respect, and compassion as a foundation for growth. Furthermore, it also fosters open and civilized dialogue between parents and children. "By making the family a spiritual madrasah, it is hoped that a generation will be formed that is not only intellectually intelligent but also spiritually strong," he added.
Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Religious Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FCEP) UII, Ir. Fitri Nugraheni, ST, MT, Ph.D., IPM, when opening the event, encouraged and made this Ramadan a momentum for self-improvement and family. According to her, the month of Ramadan is an intensive moment to strengthen the role of the family as a spiritual madrasah through joint worship. "Hopefully, from this family madrasah, a generation will be born with pious and noble morals," she said.
