"Brilliant! Sheila Aprilia Putri Wins Gold and a Medal at the 2025 Pakuan Karate Championship"

Sheila Aprilia Putri, a student from the Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning (FTSP), Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) class of 2022, achieved brilliant achievements in the Inter-Student and International Karate Championship held on June 28–29, 2025 at the PMPP Hambalang Sporthall Field, Bogor, Indonesia.

In this international championship which is part of the Pakuan Karate Championship III, Sheila managed to win three medals at once, namely:

  • 1st Place (Gold Medal) Kumite -55Kg Individual Female Students & General
  • 2nd Place (Silver Medal) Kumite -55Kg Senior Women
  • 3rd Place (Bronze Medal) Kumite -55Kg Individual Female Student

The championship attracted approximately 600 participants from 38 contingents, both from Indonesian universities and from overseas, such as Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Shitoryu Selangor Malaysia. This event was not only a medal competition, but also a crucial opportunity to instill the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and camaraderie among karate athletes from various regions and countries.

Sheila stated that karate is more than just a sport; it's a philosophy of life that teaches values like respect, courage, perseverance, and hard work. Her achievements are the result of extensive training and dedication to developing her skills and fighting spirit.

Sheila's victory is not only a personal achievement, but also brings honor to the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning and the Islamic University of Indonesia on the international stage. This achievement confirms that UII students excel not only academically but also actively and successfully in sports.

The championship, organized by Pakuan University, is also supported by various parties and serves as a strategic platform for developing the potential of young athletes and strengthening sports networks between universities and karate communities in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

With this achievement, Sheila Aprilia Putri becomes an inspiration for UII students and young Indonesians to continue developing their talents and abilities in various fields, maintaining the spirit of sportsmanship, and contributing positively to the institution and the nation.
